Retailer Posting Guidelines
From Penpedia
If you currently own or operate a retail shop related to the fountain pen industry, or otherwise have a monetary interest in pens, you are more than welcome here the same as any normal member. However, to keep things fair and honest, I would appreciate it if you would adhere to the following guidelines when contributing to the wiki.
[edit] Rules
- If posting links in articles that will go to a product page where one can purchase an item from your store, make sure the link is in context and in the appropriate place (preferably a "Retail Links" header under "External Links").
- Do not delete or replace other retailers links, unless those links no longer go to an active product page.
- Do not get into editing matches with other retailers for positions on link placement, order, etc. If there are already other links to a product listed, just add yours to the list and move on.
- Do not blatantly advertise in articles unrelated to your site (such as a pen profile). This means you shouldn't announce you have the lowest price on the pen, or the cheapest shipping, or a special sale, or whatever. You can put that on your business's article page.
- You may create and maintain articles on both your business and individuals related to it. You can share background information, sale dates, special pricing, or whatever you like. Others may still edit your page though, however specific customer service complaints should not be voiced and may be removed.
- Do not negatively edit other individuals' or businesses' pages (factual editing will be allowed).
- Consider all retail related content neutral territory. If you start a fight, cause a problem, interfere with others, or anything I deem to be creating a hostile editing environment, I will handle it however I see fit.
- I have final say on anything. Period. I am judge, jury, and executioner should anyone make a complaint or raise a concern about retailer behavior or content.
- Opportunities to mention or direct people to your site can be considered a chance for free advertising. Use it, don't abuse it. If it becomes a problem, the rules will change.
- Yes, the rules CAN change, if they need to.
Otherwise, I'm a very nice guy and want people to enjoy the site. I think we can all be adults, and know how to behave, so, the last rule is:
DON'T BE DUMB
