The evolution of the Pelikan logo has taken place over more than one hundred and twenty-five years, after first being derived from the family emblem of Günther Wagner. As noted above, the number of chicks (which had represented Wagner's children) has generally changed in each new version. The Pelikan font and logo are registered in 150 countries worldwide. The trademark for Pelikan was registered on June 26th, 1895, and entered official registries on February 26th, 1896. One day earlier on the February 25th, the original Pelikan font and logo were entered into the registry.
