Latest Update

This is a note to let everyone know how stuff is going. Notice at the top of the main page I have a stickied list of the bugs and changes taking place. Right now I am focusing my energy on combining the registration system for the site and wiki so that only one login is needed. Unfortunately that task is proving more involved than anticipated (and I anticipated it to be pretty involved to begin with), but, rest assured that I am on the road. That is the last “major” milestone before I consider the site functionally prepared and totally at your disposal. I do plan on adding some features and creating a more unique, customized skin, but all that is minor in the long run.

In the mean time, please feel free to take advantage of editing the wiki! Just don’t bother registering an account there, just edit anonymously. I know, you can’t upload pictures anonymously, so just save them until later, or email them to me and I’ll post them. I have seeded an article on the Parker “51″ that I thought might be a good start.

The chatroom is up and running nicely at this point, and I invite people to come in and lounge around, or invite your friends in. The best part is that now there is audio notification when people come in, so if no one is around, just open it in a tab in the background and just listen for the ding!

To keep up with progress, take note of the RSS feed link on the right. It’s the little orange looking button with the white waves on it. Great to load into your favorite feed reader, iGoogle, or whatever it is you use. Then you can see whenever something new comes to the front.

  • Corrected problem with default user settings in current wiki user accounts
  • Site wide login now works! All account creating and log in handled through the main site, and passes it on to the wiki for you, no additional login needed!
  • Rebuilt wiki database to repair update bugs
  • Additional syndication options on the right
  • Additional profile fields added (more coming)
  • Chatroom now has audio notification when people join
  • Chatroom is now live (see menu item at left)
  • Fixed authenticated users not seeing all menu options

Where are the bugs?

I experienced some buggies in the Wiki database yesterday after moving it from the old domain over to here. I think I killed them. I think. Keep an eye on it. I am planning a lot of integration work this week as well. So, if you run into any bugs while looking around, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Be sure to copy and paste any error messages, as that will help me substantially.
