First Fountain Pen
Filed Under RSS News | Leave a Comment
A classical fountain pen is a writing instrument with a water-based liquid ink in the reservoir contained within. The fountain pen ink is delivered to the nib through a feed; thanks to Earth gravitation the liquid flows down.
It is believed that the first fountain pen ever was made by the order of the caliph of Egypt.
The progress of perfecting fountain pens took centuries because the limited knowledge of physics did not allow to understand the role of air pressure in the fountain pens, and because inks were of highly corrosive nature.
Petrache Poenaru, a Romanian inventor, received a patent for inventing a fountain pen with a replaceable ink cartridge. Since 1827, the development of fountain pens went at a faster pace thanks to this invention. Fountain pens now allowed for smooth writing without so much hated dripping or paper scratching…

Hope you enjoyed these! This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever laid eyes on. My pictures do this pen absolutely no justice…

Just Arrived: Think Limited Edition Fountain Pens Honoring Mickey Mantle

If I could be excused for the bad baseball pun, I really believe that Think hit a “home run” with these pens.
The acrylic resin is awesome, and the deep navy pinstripes are as true to Yankee Blue as can be. Of course, the pens come in handsome presentation boxes, specially designed for the Mickey Mantle LE. Think’s previous Limited Edition Pen honored Jimi Hendrix. Although the Hendrix pen (in my opinion) wasn’t half as nice as the new Mickey Mantle writing instrument, it sold out in a matter of weeks. I would be very surprised if these Mickey Mantle pens last that long…

An extraordinarily rare Lamy 2000
Filed Under RSS News | Leave a Comment
At first glance, can you tell me what’s so rare about this Lamy 2000?
If not, don’t worry. You’re just like everyone else…except for its owner (a man called Matt from the East Coast). Matt relayed a story to me about his trip to this year’s DC Supershow a few weeks ago, and it really impressed…
