I’ve been working like the proverbial one-armed paper hanger the last few days adding pens and updating the Pear Tree Pen Co. website, in addition to trying to get your orders out to you all in a timely fashion. To say it’s been a challenge would be an understatement. But it’s been a blast, and that’s why I keep doing this.
Today, I was able to add a new section to the site I’ve been mulling about for some time: The “Used, Demo & Vintage” section. There, you’ll find a growing selection of pre-owned pens from a variety of sources: from my personal collection, pens on consignment, or even pens I’ve taken on a “trade-in, trade-up” basis…

Headed to New York…

Hey Pen Fans!
I’m heading to the New York City Pen Show this coming weekend.
Aaron from Pentiques is not too far from me, and he’s kind enough to allow me to head east with him.
I’ll have all of the new Heralds with me, including the new batch of red and black ebonite Heralds, which will be finished up Monday or Tuesday (for those of you waiting on one of these pens, they will ship on Tuesday. Thanks for your patience!)…

The progress of perfecting fountain pens took centuries because the limited knowledge of physics did not allow to understand the role of air pressure in the fountain pens, and because inks were of highly corrosive nature.
Petrache Poenaru, a Romanian inventor, received a patent for inventing a fountain pen with a replaceable ink cartridge. Since 1827, the development of fountain pens went at a faster pace thanks to this invention. Fountain pens now allowed for smooth writing without so much hated dripping or paper scratching…

Just a few pictures for today, of a pen that I’m too much of a wimp to ink!
Hope you enjoyed these! This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever laid eyes on. My pictures do this pen absolutely no justice…

James’ comment to the pictures of the Arco reminded me that I’d taken these, but not posted them here!
That said, here’s a few pictures of a truly gorgeous pen that I had the opportunity to play with for a bit…
