Neverending Changes
Filed Under Wiki Updates | Leave a Comment
Earlier today we upgraded to the latest stable release of Drupal. This should be transparent for all of you, but if not, be sure to let me know if you see any weird behavior. Mostly this was to patch some security holes in the old version, because at Penpedia, we care about such things! In the coming days I plan on starting to test things out with the new Drupal 6 release candidate. This doesn’t mean a whole lot to any of you yet, but will enable a lot of new directions for us, the least of which is getting around to retheming this site so it looks and navigates a lot more nicely. But, becaues of our tight integration with MediaWiki, there is a lot to go over before any such change takes place.
In the mean time I’m still working on new stuff for the wiki (with a surprise new feature soon). Here’s the latest list:
Also, don’t forget, all the information in the wiki is open! You can add to it, edit it, or add articles all on your own if you want. That’s the whole great nature of a wiki. It is a tool for you to use and develop, as much as it is reference info to digest. I will keep up as much as I can, but I know there’s a ton of great information you all can contribute as well. I am happy to help those of you out who might not know how to use a wiki. Just ask.

Well, I can tell you there’s a lot going on here. I’m currently working to fill the interest in having more pen profiles in the wiki. This is not an easy or fast process, but I’m aiming to get a couple done each week on my own. More if some other folks chip in (I’m talking to you!).
Anyway, to clue you in, here’s some of the new stuff. First, if you are a retailer of any sort, please take a moment to read the Retailer Posting Guidelines. This is nothing big and scary, just some basics on what you should and shouldn’t do in the wiki to keep it friendly and unbiased (as much as possible). So please give that a once over before adding information. And ask if you have any questions.
As for new information, I’ll just shoot you a short list:
