There’s been some nice growth going on in the wiki lately that I thought I’d point out in the news today. As always, any registered member is welcome to make corrections or additions to any article in the wiki, and can even make pages for things that are missing. A special thanks to those of you taking the time to contribute, you make it work!

First is a big article on the Fountainbel Cartridge. This little wonder allows relatively painless repair of Sheaffer Vac-Fill pens, and frequently can be done by anyone in under an hour. There is also pricing and ordering information in the entry, in case you need one. There will be additional pictures in the entry this evening.

Zoom Nibs are a beast many people can be confused by, so there is a nice write up coming together on them. If anyone has one with a nice macro picture of the nib, that would be great if you’d post it! I discovered that Google SketchUp just doesn’t handle a 3D design with that many curves well (at least I couldn’t get it to), so I couldn’t model it.

If you are interesting in nib blocks, its entry not only gives you some background on them, but you can also find a scan from Father Terry’s plan that was originally posted to the Zoss Pen List for a home made nib block you can put together in your shop. A great starting point for working on your own nibs.

If you want to learn about more modern tools of the trade, be sure to read up on how ultrasonic cleaners can help you out in restoring old pens. They are more complex than you might expect, and also cheaper! The information should be able to help clear up some details that can be confusing when looking to buy your own ultrasonic cleaner.
